The Museum of the Masovian Countryside in Sierpc draws closer the forgotten world connected with preparing for and experiencing Easter. Here, you can contemplate the amazingly abundant folk tradition and culture presented in the interiors of the cottages from the turn of the 20th century and in the interiors of manor houses.
Starting from Palm Sunday, in the open-air museum’s interiors there are presented customs connected with this joyful holiday. The preparations for Easter appear as cleaning of the rooms, limewashing of walls, or making Easter palms. The exhibition depicts the contrast between peasant and manor Easter baskets, diverse designs of Easter eggs, or Easter decorations. However, these are only a few elements of the “Easter in Masovia region” exhibition presented in the open-air museum in Sierpc. You can sightsee the exhibition from Palm Sunday to the end of April.
